You can engage in your child’s learning at home and school in many ways. The school council provides advice on school matters and helps to strengthen the important relationship between schools, families and their communities. The council includes family members, school staff and community members.
Who We Are
School Council is a collaborative group of parents, guardians, school administration, teachers, students and community representatives. We advise on school priorities, culture, safety, communication, extracurriculars and student well-being.
We are open to all parents/guardians - no experience is necessary.
What We Do
- Strengthen school community.
- Organize fundraising that makes a difference.
- Provide parent/guardian voice in school planning.
- Support and promote family and community engagement.
- Collaborate with the principal to coordinate community resources that support student success and well-being.
- Review and provide feedback on school and Board policies - communication, student activities, School Improvement Plan.
We usually hold council meetings four times per year.
