ECSS Newsletter - September 12, 2025

Dear Families,

As we enter the third week of school, we are thrilled with the positive energy and enthusiasm our students continue to bring each day. Classrooms are buzzing with learning, and students are beginning to settle into their routines and build strong connections with their peers and teachers.

In the weeks ahead, we are looking forward to a variety of opportunities for students to get involved—whether through clubs, teams, or upcoming school events. We encourage families to talk with their children about ways they can engage in school life beyond the classroom.

Thank you for your continued support as we work together to create a safe, welcoming, and inspiring environment for every student. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team if you have any questions or need assistance.

Updates from Guidance

The Google Form for course change requests is now closed. Counsellors are continuing to work on finalizing student requests. All updates will be completed next week. Students should continue to follow their assigned timetable and check their GAPPS emails for responses from the Guidance team. Thank you to everyone for their patience as we work to support all students.

Guidance appointment bookings will open once all students are fully timetabled. Students will be able to book appointments through TeachAssist. In the meantime, students are welcome to stop by the Guidance Pop-Up Shop outside of room 129 before school or at the start of the lunch hour should they require support.

Community Involvement Hours reminder - Students are responsible for obtaining pre-approval for any activity that they are considering for this graduation requirement and all community involvement hours must reflect YRDSB's values and priorities.

When selecting an activity, students and families are encouraged to refer to the criteria for eligible and ineligible activities prior to selecting a community involvement activity.

Hard copies of the Community Involvement Notification forms can be found in the Guidance Office and also linked in the Grade Google Classrooms.

Completed Community Involvement Notification forms can be placed in the drop box located inside the Guidance and Career Education Office (room 129).
