Dear Families,
As we welcome the month of October, we encourage all of our students to continue making positive choices that support their learning and well-being. Our staff remain focused and committed to creating safe, inclusive, and engaging classrooms where every student can thrive.
There’s so much happening in our community, and we’re excited to see our students getting involved, making connections, and enjoying their high school experience.
- Camp Coyote for our Grade 9 students will take place on Tuesday, October 8. This is a great opportunity for them to build connections and school spirit.
- Senior Sunrise also takes place on Tuesday, October 8, a tradition for our graduating students to celebrate their final year together.
Good Neighbor Relationships
The students of ECSS have a shared responsibility with our community partners to ensure an inviting and clean environment for our neighbours and our community. Students are asked to respect the property and privacy of our neighbours. Although the Al Palladini Community Center, the Pierre Berton Resource Library and the Business establishments at the Plaza are public facilities, they are to be treated as private property by our students. Students are not to loiter in, or near, these establishments. To be inside Al Palladini Community Center, students must have a Community Center membership and they must be participating in community activities. We are proud of our students as they are ECSS ambassadors wherever they go in the community.

Updates from Guidance
The Postsecondary Planning Presentations concluded this week for homeroom classes and for students who have a study hall period in period 1. All Ontario Student Status Reports (OSSRs) have also been distributed. A checklist has been posted in the “All Things Grade 12” Google Classroom for reference. If a student did not pick up their OSSR, they are asked to come by the Guidance Office to pick it up from Ms. Giotis.
