ECSS Newsletter - October 17, 2025

Dear Families,

Today we proudly hosted our awards ceremony, celebrating the outstanding achievements of our students. It was a joy to recognize their hard work and dedication alongside their families. Congratulations to all our award recipients.

As we step into the third week of October, the energy around school is buzzing with excitement and learning. We’re especially looking forward to Family Night on Thursday, October 23, a wonderful opportunity to come together, celebrate our community, and enjoy an evening of connection and fun. We hope to see you there!

As always, we continue to encourage our students to make thoughtful choices throughout the day. This includes respecting shared spaces, whether it's the classroom or hallways or in the community and being mindful of how their actions affect others. These small decisions help build a safe, welcoming environment for everyone.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Wishing you a restful weekend ahead!

Take time to explore the Student Mental Health and Addictions letter for Fall 2025. It includes supportive resources and community mental health events.

The Ontario Universities’ Regional Fairs are taking place in Southwestern Ontario on October 14-17.

The Ontario Universities’ Virtual Information Sessions will be on November 10, 5-7 p.m.

The Ontario College Fair will not be taking place this year. It is recommended that students attend individual college campus open houses and tours taking place over the next couple of months. Students can view the details on each individual college website. Information on college tours can be viewed on the College Information Program page.

College and University Open Houses & Tours: Attending a college and university open house or tour is a great way to find out more about the campus, the programs, and the environment. Each postsecondary institution offers a variety of events throughout the year for secondary school students. We encourage students and families to visit each institution’s website to find out more details about in-person and virtual opportunities.

SAVE THE DATE! The ECSS Pathways to Opportunity Night is taking place on November 13th from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. This is an event where students and their parents/guardians have an opportunity to meet with representatives from various postsecondary institutions in order to learn more about the different programs they offer.

Aboriginal Post-Secondary Information Program will be travelling across Ontario and parts of Quebec for the annual fall recruitment season: September - November 2025. Here are the dates for the In-Person Tour
