Families who live within walking distance are encouraged to use active travel, including walking or rolling (cycling, scootering, skateboarding) to and from school. Choosing active travel can improve physical and mental health and helps students start the day alert and ready to learn. It also helps to protect the environment and reduce traffic, making school zones safer for everyone.
School Bus/Taxi

Driving to School
Families who choose to drive their children to school are asked to consider parking a block or two away from the school and walking the rest of the way. You can avoid the morning rush by dropping your child off before 7:45 a.m., carpooling, or encouraging your child to walk or make use of public transit. This will help alleviate traffic congestion while allowing the students time to gather materials from their lockers and still be in class on time. Families dropping off their children must use the loop in front of the school.
Also, In the interest of safely dropping off and picking up your child and to help traffic move smoother, we ask parents not to drop their children off or stop in the wheelchair bus area. Cars stopping in the wheelchair bus area block traffic behind them causing it to be slower for everyone and our wheelchair buses are unable to drop off and/or pick-up our students in a timely manner. In addition, the lanes directly in front of the main entrance are emergency and bus lanes, please do not use these lanes to drop off or pick up your child.
Student Parking Lot
Students who drive to school are required to park in the south lot only. Neither the school, nor YRDSB will be responsible for any damage caused while the car is parked in the parking lot. Please be considerate and careful when using the school parking lot. Do not park in the fire zone or bus loops for any reason. Please work with us to keep our students safe.
